CRAFT 52 WEEKS 41-47

Annoyingly I didn't remember to take photos of many of the gifts I have made and sent off, but I do have some fun things that I made to show you!

First attempt at a stack of pancakes with maple syrup and butter.

Oreos!! These are vegan though, unlike the real ones.

Gingerbread men. I usually make these every year, slightly different, this year I have made them with raisin faces etc :)

One of my new pieces, Faux food in a jar!
This time a festive bunch of candy canes.

A delish chocolate bon bon with a nibble taken. I have been making choccies for years and years
but I like this one the best so far!

A cake that is full of love and faux fruit :)
I made this piece for the raw food guru, Kate Magic :)
It is very similar to one of her raw chocolate and fruit cakes.

More crafty posts to come!

CRAFT 52 week 33 dog toy tutorial

Hi guys!
I just wanted to share something with all you peeps who share your house with pups.

As you know from reading my blog, I am a thrifty chickadee. I like my money to stretch and I if I can I will make something, rather than buying it.

SO, my woofs really needed some new chew toys but we are saving as much moola we can for moving so buying them was out of the question.
I remembered I had some fleece in my fabric drawers, so I dug it out and wondered what to make.
My dogs will destroy anything in 10 mins flat, so I didn't want to spend hours making stuff, so I just cut strips of fleece and plaited it!!
It is perfect! The woofs LOVE these toys and keeps them quite for ages.
They sit there chewing them, playing tug of war with me and eachother and roll all over the place with them, haha!

To make, simply cut three strips of fleece, knot one end, plait as you would plait hair, then knot the other end, done!! Cheap and cheerful dog toy that they love!!
If you have a big dog, maybe you could try 6 strands of fleece, but for small to medium three is plenty :)

Just wanted to share xoxo

Please lemme know if you know of any thrifty doggy or kitty toy makes too!!

Don't you just LOVE being thrifty!!

What is your best thrifty tip to share??

CRAFT 52 week 31

Hi de hi me hearties!

How are you?

The weather here in the UK has been pretty dismal of late, and because of this I have had to amuse myself indoors, for the most part.

Even the poor woof woofs have been having wet play time for the last three days.

So I cracked open the clay, so to speak!

I had something I had been meaning to make for my old bestie for ages and so it I thought the wet weather was a perfect excuse to get cracking with that.

Well, after making her an ice cream miniature, I set about making these yummies.

It was loads of fun and I cannot believe how long it has been since I made anything with clay. I think around 8 or more months.

I know I could do better with practice but I was pretty pleased after such a dry spell that I could make anything at all, haha!

Sometimes it is very frustrating to be whimsical, I would love to master a craft but I flit and fly between so many.

Maybe one day I will be truly good at something ;D

Iced Bundt cake and xmas cookies, yummy, wish these were real!

Notice the shapes?
Heart, star, xmas tree and gingerbread man!

More iced cookies, this time in a miniature glass jar.

This is a gift for a friend, think she will like it??

What shall I make next?

CRAFT 52 week 27

Hi Guys!!!

Me and my hubs spent all of our money recently on anniversary gifts (11 years married on July 1st, woo hoo) and equipment for our raw food diet (dehydrator, food processor, super foods) so right now we are pretty broke for a while until we save some funds again, so when I saw the etsy listing for a pretty white felt flower hair barrette,I thought, damn, I really like that, but will have to make my own!
I had some beautiful 100% wool felt and a pretty vintage button that I think is about 50 or 60 years old, so I went to town creating my own.

The above is my version of the wonderful creation below.

etsy listing

I personally think it is best to support the artist if you can but most artists don't mind if you are just making something like theirs for your own enjoyment.

I wanted to give full credit to the actual creator, so that you could go buy one if wanted to. I didn't want to pass this off as my design. I mean, I handmade it, designed the petal etc but what I mean is, It wasn't my idea.

I am loving crafts lately and have some great ideas for jewellery right now x

Barry M get my thumbs up on nail polish. also CRAFT 52 week 15

Hi guys!
Last week I treated myself to some Barry M products (after finding out that they are cruelty free of course)
I bought the blueberry ice-cream nail paint and the baby pink lip paint.
I was so impressed with the nail paint quality for such an inexpensive price, just 2.95!! I usually buy O.P.I (cruelty free) which is quite a bit more expensive. I am so happy with the result.
I applied it on Friday night to both toes and finger nails and it only just started to chip on the following Thursday on the my finger nails and it is perfect on my toe nails, pretty impressed!!!

SO on to the lip paint, colour baby pink 100, sooooooooooooooooo horrid!!!! I applied it and to my horror it looked so chalky and thick, kinda like ski sunblock make up, lol, not to mention unflattering and unwearable.
It felt so thick on my lips.
I have never ever returned lipstick but I will try to return this, at £4.25 they aren't the cheapest lippy you can buy but it sure looks it. JUST HORRIBLE!!!
Now it could be THIS that colour is nasty and the rest of their lippys are fine and dandy but I will never buy another to try, just don't need the hassle, when there are so many great brands out there that I have never had an issue with.
So after I applied it, about three hours before going out that night, it took me 1 drink of tea and 1 hour to look in the mirror to see that the thick gunky lippy had come half off, so you could see my own lips where I had drank the tea and then this gunk everywhere else, so horrid seen as I was going out for drinks that night, TOTALLY UNWEARABLE!!

I WAS PISSED about it, can you tell, haha!
I really want my moola back as it is unusable but I have to jump though a few hoops first to see if I can which is so lame, not impressed. Firstly with superdrug, btw, not barry m themselves.

This photo is going towards my craft 52, It is creative, right? LAME I know, just not been feeling creative of late, so much is going on, lots good some bad, ya'll know how It is, right?

lemme know your experiences!

CRAFT 52 week 14

This wonderful photo is taken from andreasrecipes.
I made my very first batch of snickerdoodle cookies On Monday night and they were amazing!!!!
I can't believe I have never had them before.
I made mine using spelt flour and xylitol (sugar sub) and kept some and gave the rest to friends of ours.
I was so bad the next day with my Fibromyalgia that I never got a photo of them, booo, so I took this one. They look just the same, 2nd best thing I'm afraid.
I will be baking up some treats this weekend for friends so I will make sure to get the cam out, even if Davie has to take them for me :)
My recipe

• 1/2 cup vegan marg, softened
• 1 cup xylitol
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 1 large egg
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 1/2 cups all spelt flour
• 4 Tablespoons xylitol
• 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

normal recipe here; RECIPE

Guys, if you do use xylitol, PLEASE keep away from your fur babies, XYLITOL IS POISONOUS to pets, thanks :)
