Captain and Levi (my dogs) loved these treats.

I love my dogs so much and I want them to be here with me for as long as possible, which is why I feed mostly a raw meat and bones diet to them.
This diet helps both their health and wellbeing and is great for their teeth too.
I'm not always perfect though and do give my Chihuahua boys a "nice nice" which is basically a kong filled with yummy cooked treats like quinoa, sweet potato, sweetcorn, cooked turkey...it really depends on the day, oh and they also get a quail egg once a week.
I also sometimes give them something very naughty like a crisp or some biscuit :(
So I am not perfect and because of this some tartar started to build on their perfect teeth, oh no!
Once I got over my guilt I thought about how I must get to brushing their teeth again but I didn't want to use a tube of dog toothpaste that I had no idea what on earth it contained, so I decided to make my own.
I looked on the Internet and it seemed to be that bicarbonate of soda and oil was the main ingredient in homemade toothpaste for dogs.
The link below is the recipe I followed.
It gives you a rough guide on amounts, so eyeball it to get a nice consistency that looks/feels right.
recipe
Here are the ingredients.
Jar
Cinnamon
bicarbonate of soda
coconut oil
salt
stock
Also boiled water
My dogs hate having their teeth brushed but it is so important for their health, unless you only feed raw meat and bones.
Dog's mouths are more alkaline which encourages plaque build up.
Plague builds on teeth, which is unhealthy bacteria and that bacteria can go into major organs in the body and cause all kinds of issues to the kindneys and heart, yikes.
Clenaing your dog's teeth can make them live longer!
Well hello there!
Fancy a Vegan friendly natural face mask that is amazing for your skin, anti-aging, healing, heals acne, rosacea, blackheads, improves skin’s elasticity is anti-inflammatory?
All you need is some ground turmeric...
Some aloe vera gel
Small glass bowl...
Careful not to get turmeric paste anywhere you don't want it, it will stain!
Take a warm wet washcloth and dampen your face, this will open your pores.
Add ingredients to make a paste then apply mixture to your face and neck. Including under your eyes, but be careful!
The reasons we add to under our eyes is because turmeric is so anti inflammatory and helps pull out toxins, which is great for reducing puffy eyes etc.
Leave 5-10 minutes and then rinse off in the shower.
Once all face mask is rinsed away, cleanse your face using the oil cleansing method, because the face mask will stain your skin slightly, and the oil will remove the any yellow staining.
Because this will stain your face slightly this is best done in the evening.
Great way to improve your skin is the oil cleansing method. I do it daily and it is life changing!

Reduce the chemicals in your body, go natural!
Now go enjoy great skin!
It is that time of year in the U.K when the fleas are out and about ready to pounce on our fur babies.
Those pesky pests!
I stopped using chemical ridden and expensive flea treatments 12 years ago when one of my cats Oreo actually lost hair where the flea treatment was placed on the back of his neck...this really woke me up to what I was using on these trusting cats at the time. I realised how I was putting harsh chemicals on their skin every month...and therefore in the body of my precious cats, These harsh solutions were likely tested on animals too!
Since those early days I researched the heck out of the subject.
I have since only used natural flea repellents for my 2 dogs and 3 cats. In the 14 years I have had my cats they have only had fleas once..it was about 8 years ago.. we had such a wet summer that fleas were coming into the house and running rampant.
I am so thankful that I learnt all I did and that my 5 year old dogs have never ever had harsh chemicals in their system.
Our animal friends are far too precious for all those chemical ridden flea treatments.
All of my animals are fed a grain free, raw meat/bones/organ meat/eggs diet which makes them much less desirable to fleas and other bugs. Fleas are very attracted to animals that eat a grain based diet, since it makes them quite “yeasty.” They also like pets with lower immune systems and who are not as healthy.
The more healthy your animal companion is, the less likely they are to be nibbled.
I make my own natural flea repellent! It's so easy to do.
All you need:
Spray bottle
lavender essential oil
Citronella essential oil
Tea tree essential oil
cheap vodka
water
To make things even easier, you can just use water and citronella oil as citronella mixes with water just fine...I say that as some essential oils need oil or alcohol to blend well.
I only added alcohol to help blend the lavender and tea tree oils, as they do not blend well with water.
Put the lavender and tea tree in your bottle first and fill the bottle 1/8 with alcohol, mix well, then add water and citronella (leave an 1/8 of the bottle empty so that the solution has room to mix and shake well)
Simply spray some solution close to your pets neck and base of tail and work in to their skin with your finger tips, avoid their ears, eyes and mouth.
Wash your hands after applying this solution to your fur baby just in case you have any on your hands..your pets hate the smell.
You can also use this to spray on your skin too, to act as an insect repellent.
Have you heard of Method? More importantly do you use it? I do and have done for some time now.
I LOVE it. I love everything about it. I love the packaging. I love the writing on the packaging. I love that it is cruelty free. I love that it is made using non toxic and natural plant derived ingredients... I love that they have a sense of humour and and I love the fragrances they use. I LOVE that they make something as laborious as cleaning, FUN!
These products are cool, ethical, smell great, don't hurt the fur babies, us or the planet and guess what...they work GREAT!
I am always telling anyone that will listen about method and I swear I don't work for them but I would if they asked me to!

Best bathroom cleaner I ever had. Eucalyptus and mint fragrance is so fresh smelling!!
The grapefruit scent is so fresh and zingy!
This dish soap is highly concentrated, cleans super well and what a cool bottle too!
This is my go-to cleaner for many things...glass mirrors, window marks, wooden furniture etc, it's great and the lavender fragrance is so soothing and fresh.
In my home I use their washing up liquid, kitchen cleaner, floor cleaner, handwash, bathroom cleaner, toilet wipes and multi-surface lavender cleaner, so yeah...bit of a fan :)
So put the hurt on dirt and go get some method in your life!
