For months now my skin has been terrible. I always used to have a few pimples, but for a while they have been upsetting me because anyone with skin issues knows it just takes facial blemishes to knock that confidence!
I figured it may be due to wheat in my diet, so I ditched the wheat, no change in a while, so then I thought maybe it was a detox as I have been improving my diet. At my wits end I thought I would go online and see if anything looked good to help sort my poor face out.
Salicylic acid kept coming up as something that really helps, so I bought some, pure acid, but as yet have been too scared to use it, haha! It is supposed to act a bit like a gentle skin peel, ack, scared! So that remained it the bottle, lol! Then after more research I came to "Origins Zero Oil" cleanser and at £19 (with p +p) I had high hopes considering my normal simple facial wash costs a mere £3.70!!
I am always happy to pay for exceptional products and always buy a decent moisturiser, right now I use "Dermalogica Active Moist" which is around £40 for 100ml which for me is pricey but again, happy to pay for a great cruelty free product that works! The moisturiser by the way is fab. I have weird skin and I am 37, so not old not young and fair skinned too. My skin is a bit dehydrated and a bit oily, all at different times, it is a bit hyper sensitive too, bit like me haha!
Oh but I digress!! Back to Salicylic acid!! Like I said after research I came to Origins Zero Oil, which contains the Salicylic acid that supposed to exfoliate skin deep down to help unclog these pesky blocked pores which leads to break outs, it's also jam packed with lovely essential oils, feels heavenly to use..I've only used it 3 times and I can tell already my neck and cheeks felt like they have had crystal clear microdermabration on them as they feel so soft!
I am hopeful!!
I always like to get to the core of the problem, rather than just treating the symptoms but I am guessing for me it is likely a hormonal thing that I hope will get better, the better I eat. I do try to eat as healthy as I can but I get naughty too and loves me some cookies or chips :)
If you have skin issues, diet is the best way to help. Topical lotions and potions are a great support to that but not a cure all.
I wish you great skin health!!

Thanks for posting this! I'm always curious about what people our age are putting on their skin!
I've discovered that a lot of the anti-aging stuff with a lot of Vit C in it is too harsh for me and makes me itchy, so I have given up on the anti-aging for now heheh.
You're welcome and I know what you mean!!! For me the anti aging shizz is just too heavy and gives me break outs or like you said, nakes ne itchy!! The things for young problem skin is too stripping and harsh so it is a bit of a nightmare for our age group! I like to wear an eye cream, I use weleda rose eye cream and a pure vitamin e capsule and coconut oil are a nice weekly treat and very gentle!
